MY STORY

Hi, I’m Sandrine — a mother, a dreamer, and a believer that motherhood should not be the end of our dreams but the beginning of a new chapter filled with purpose, strength, and resilience.

It hasn’t been like that, though. I was once engulfed with fear, self-doubt, and depression. The beginning of my motherhood was my darkest period.

Where It All Began

Before becoming a mother, I had big dreams — ambitions that filled my heart with excitement and hope. I was on my way to finishing college when life took a different turn. I found out I was pregnant. Suddenly, everything changed. The joy of expecting a child was overshadowed by the voices of doubt all around me.

I remember hearing things like:

  • “How will you manage a career with a baby?”
  • “It’s too early to start a family.”
  • “Your life is going to change forever, and not for the better.”

Those words sunk deep. At times, I even believed them. I felt like my dreams were slipping away, and with every passing day, the weight of expectations, both external and internal, grew heavier.

The Struggles of Early Motherhood

A few months later, I was diagnosed with Post-partum depression(I will share in a separate post how my life was during that dark period). Trust me when I say it was my darkest moment because it was hell. Taking a bath was my hardest task; you can guess how it was with other tasks!! 😢

Things were becoming worse with each passing day, and I couldn’t handle it anymore. That is when I started the journey of therapy. Through therapy and support groups, I met other mothers who shared similar struggles. We were all battling self-doubt, fear, and the belief that motherhood had put our dreams on hold indefinitely.

Months into those sessions, something in me shifted. I realized something powerful: We only become what we believe.

Reclaiming My Power

The more I listened to other mothers’ stories, the more I realized that motherhood doesn’t have to mean the end of our personal aspirations. I came to realize that it’s possible to chase our dreams while raising our children. The two don’t have to be mutually exclusive. In fact, I learned that motherhood can be the driving force that fuels our dreams.

But let me be honest with you!! It wasn’t an easy journey, but I started making small changes. I let go of the voices that told me I couldn’t be both a mother and a woman with dreams. I began to believe in my abilities again — as a mother, a professional, and a person with passions and goals.

Why I Created This Space

I created this blog because I know firsthand how it feels to struggle with balancing motherhood and personal dreams. I know how isolating it can feel to think you have to choose between the two. I want this space to be a source of inspiration and support for mothers (and the men who love and care for them) who are navigating the same journey I did (and still navigating).

Through my posts, resources, and stories from other incredible women, I hope to show you that you can reclaim your power. You can be the best mother to your children and still pursue the dreams that make you who you are.

This Space Is for You

Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom wondering where your personal time went, a working mom trying to balance your career and family, or even a father, brother, or friend supporting a mother in your life — this space is for you. I want you to feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Together, we’ll navigate the challenges of motherhood, mental health, and the pursuit of our dreams. I’ll share tips and insights that have helped me along the way, and we’ll celebrate the victories — both big and small.

If you’re ready to reclaim your power and live your life to its fullest potential, you’re in the right place. Let’s rise, shine, and show the world that we can be everything we’ve ever dreamed of and more.

“I’d love to hear your story too! Feel free to share it with us below or reach out to me personally at [email protected]. If you have a question or suggestion, you can share it in the same way, too.

Together, we can support each other on this incredible journey.”
